64 Reasons

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 6:38 pm

Hello! I wonder about the people coming on here sometimes. Like, how they stumbled upon our site. Are they Crabb Family fans who clicked on our link from the main site? Are they people who have come to see us live already? Are they people who have seen other people wearing our “CrabbRevival.net” shirts and decided to check it out? Maybe they were looking for a church online who had a free seafood event… Hey. That literally happened a couple weeks ago. Reguardless of how you got here, I just want everyone who reads this to know that we love you, no matter who you are. Even if we’ve never met you, we WANT to. God loves you. And the main desire of this ministry is for you to encounter the Love of God like we all have. It’s a beautiful thing. It makes you love people you didn’t think you could, and you love others you already loved even more!

How complicated is it to feel this love? Well, God already loves you. He has since you were born, and the filthiest, nastiest thing you have ever done never made Him love you any less. He loves us all the same. How hard is it to erase your past failures and turn your life around for good? It’s as easy as ABC. A-Accept the fact that you are a sinner and you were born into sin (this shouldn’t be a hard thing to do. I mean, look at us all and all the stupid things we have done through life.) B-Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He will come into your heart and guide you for the rest of your life. And C-Confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. Tell people what He has done for you and the change He has made in your life.

Sorry to all of you who already know Jesus. I am not a preacher and do not wish to force Jesus on anyone. He never forced people to believe in Him. It’s our choice. I was just wondering today about all the people who might like our music but are confused as to why we do what we do. Or maybe they don’t know this Jesus we talk about night after night. Everyone has been raised different and the only way some people will ever know about Him is by us sharing Him in any form we can…

So, I bought this book the day before yesterday called Save Me From Myself by Brian “Head” Welch, the former guitarist of the heavy rock band, Korn. I finished it last night, which is weird to me because I don’t read, other than the Bible. And I’ve never gotten really into anything that quick to where I couldn’t put it down. If you haven’t heard about him, he was a multi-platinum selling artist whose lyrics were filled with evil things and whose life revolved around drugs and alcohol. He decided to try Jesus, and he quit the band, gave away his money, and now lives as a sold-out Christian with a life devoted to helping others and serving Christ. If you haven’t, you need to check out the book.

So yesterday, me and my buddy Seth decide to go mini-bike riding at home. So we got the bikes out. My bike (which Seth was gonna ride) starts to fall over off the kickstand and I grab the handle. My bike fell and with my hand caught between the handle and the handbrake, I stubbed my finger or something when it twisted. So now, my middle finger on my left hand is swollen and purple in some places. I have it wrapped to my ring finger in order to stabalize it and keep it from hitting anything. It’s killing me at the moment, and I am a little concerned as to how I will manage to play drums tomorrow night, but I’m gonna do my best. Why couldn’t it be my pinky finger? Does anyone ever use their pinky finger? If I had to lose a finger, it would be my pinky, cause I don’t really use it.

Anyways, I am sitting around on this rainy day. We leave tonight for FL. I am pretty excited. Mostly because I am bringing along my Nintendo64. Zach brought his Super Nintendo last weekend and we had a blast. But I think games are too complicated nowadays. I think the 64 is like the closest you can get to that fine line of having great graphics, but still being easy to play, you know? I am not a crazy game geek, but I have a few favorites over the years and 3 of them are 64 games: Mario 64, James Bond 007 (multi-player action), and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Hopefully, we’ll have our fair share of 64 gaming this weekend.

Luckily, I don’t need my left hand middle finger to play 64, so I’m happy!

Be good! Come see us! We will have fun, I promise!

First blog from Zach…

Filed under: Journal — Zach @ 5:44 pm

Well, only a few more days until Amanda and I get married. Our days at home pretty much consist of finishing up all the last minute tasks, and watching the calendar. We are so excited to start a new chapter in our lives. As far as the road goes, everything is going great as well. We’re in Waco, Texas right now. Just sitting around in the hotel room, waiting in line for a shower, and of course, on my computer. Well, I guess I better run. Hope to see y’all soon!

Zachery.

“MicahTown”

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 6:09 pm

I’m trying to think of everything that’s went on since I last posted, and so much has happened, I can’t remember everything. So let me start with saying how much I miss John Candy. I was thinking about it today and he has GOT to be one of my favorite people of all time. His appearances in Home Alone and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles were the best! He’s such a lovable guy. I wish we had been related and he would’ve been one of my uncles or something. In a sense, I kind of feel he was, but enough about John. Rest his soul.

We played Dollywood a couple weeks ago and it was so radical. If anyone has ever went there and rode the Thunderhead, they would have to agree that it is the BEST rollercoaster that’s ever been built. I rode that thing, honestly, probably 27 times that weekend. It never gets old. I still didn’t get to meet Dolly, but my family was there, and that pretty much made up for Dolly’s absence. Someday, I’m going to open a theme park that’s 5 times as big called “MicahTown”, and you can guarantee that I’ll be there everyday…riding rides with the people, stealing little kids’ sno-cones, and just having fun on waterslides and whatnot. I’m gonna hire people who make toothpaste, instead of glass and honey, cause I think people would be more interested in how toothpaste was made. At least I would, and it’s gonna be my town. I’ll buy the Thunderhead and put it there, and instead of riding it once, the coaster will rotate the track 5 times before the ride is considered “over”.

We played this past weekend with Jason and Salvador and a band called Dishwater Blonde. It was so much fun, and let me say that Salvador’s bassist makes me wanna drop drums and play bass so bad. He’s so smooth and ridiculously grooving. If you haven’t ever seen them, you’ve GOT to.

We’ve been having so much fun. Most importantly, we’ve been seeing a lot of people come forward and decide to give their lives to Christ. That’s my favorite part of any evening. If I never played drums or did anything, it would be worth it all just to sit in a service where someone’s life was being changed. There’s nothing like it! Hell will not win.

Come see us, people. We love you guys. Thanks for your encouragement and support! Once I was in a jigsaw accident and it scarred me for life…just playing.

Family Time!

Filed under: Journal — Terah @ 12:05 am

What an awesome week we have had this past week! Monday we had a photo shoot for the new album, that turned out really cool! Tuesday and Wednesday we were in the studio working on the album,(I am sooo excited about it too, I think your going to really like it!) and Thursday night at midnight we all were on our way to Dollywood for a one last get together with all the family! (The Crabb Family group!) What an awesome time we had too. Not just on stage but off stage also! All the family went out to eat at Uncle Fins Saturday night and then we went to ride go-karts! If only you could have seen these boys running each other into the walls with their go-karts, you would have been in the floor laughing! They are crazy driving those things! I would say it was just the guys to but my brother Aaron his wife Amanda was in the middle of it too and so was Kristi, Adams wife! I can’t remember when I ever had so much fun! I love my family so much! I am so glad we had this time together! Making family time is so important! Life is to short to not take some time out for your family! The bible says that you put Jesus first, then your family comes next. Not work or even your ministry, but family! Anyway, I have know idea why I said all of that, but maybe somebody needs to take some time out and play ball with your son, or babies with your little girl. I promise you’ll be glad you did! Love each and everyone of you! Terah

1,2,3…Say “Ice Cream!”

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 9:46 pm

Photoshoot time for the new album! We finished yesterday. I’ve gotta say I had a lot of fun and usually do. I mean, for one, it’s a great excuse to get to wear weird clothes. Like clothes I normally wouldn’t wear unless I was in a western or I was some sort of German golfer in the 30’s. Another reason is we got Kim Lancaster to take our pics and I absolutely love that girl’s style. She’s so good. She’s done the photowork for the last 2 Crabb albums and I think she did a marvelous job. Her husband, Alan, also did a fantastic job helping us and being the pack mule for Kim and all her gear. I would’ve offered to help him, but if I wanted to workout, I’d go to a gym.

We took pics at this place that seemed abandoned, yet, security kept showing up telling us to leave. I mean, who do you call and ask permission to take pics in front of their decreped rusted metal buildings and ruins? I’m sure if anyone was at their office sitting at their desk, they’d have to be a skeleton. Anyway, props to Caleb for doing our hair, and his brother, Micah, simply for having the coolest name that’s ever been. Midway through our shoot, Zach, as he says, made “slight eye-contact” with this woman driving past in an ice cream truck. When she saw us, she u-turned on 2 wheels in the middle of the road and stopped to see if we wanted ice cream. I was like, “We’re in the middle of a photoshoot. OF COURSE we want ice cream!” So we got it. Poor Hannah dropped her Spider-man ice cream on the ground and cried her cute little eyes out. I felt so bad for her, because the other day, I dropped my fish filet from McDonald’s on the floor and ran out the door screaming and crying. I know the embarrassment.

So, after our run-in with the police, a man with an awesome dog, the ice cream lady, and a one-legged dolphin with blue eyes and a cassette tape of David Cassidy, it ended being an awesome day and the pics look pretty sweet.

Oh, and we played on Sunday at the Crabb’s home church in Beaver Dam, KY for their homecoming. I’ve never seen so much food in my life. It made me mad that I couldn’t fit “one of everything” on my already collapsing tray. It was awesome to see all Adam, Terah, and Jed’s families, as well as some friends of ours who came to see us. A big shout out to my vocal hero and friend, James “El Vox” Canupp, Luke and Stacie, Jessie, Luke’s Parents, and all the incredible people I met for the first time. You guys are a blessing and a lot of fun to hang around with. I’m looking forward to our giant jam session.

Dollywood is this weekend. Gonna be a whole load of fun. I still wanna meet Dolly, though. You’d think we’d be able to. But, going back to a conversation I had not too long ago, if I MET Dolly, I don’t think it would feel like meeting her. I feel like I’d be meeting a Dolly impersonator. Kind of like Michael Jackson. If you met him, would you really feel like you were meeting him? Or would it seem too unreal? For me it would seem unreal. So in conclusion, I have decided I’d rather not meet either one, thus leaving the aura of talent respect I have for them in tact. I mean, what other person in the world can be recognized just for his sillhouette?…………Okay, but Alfred Hitchcock could never dance like that!

God is real,
Micah
