Balloons and the Trailer from Satan

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 2:54 pm

This weekend was probably one of the funnest and funniest weekends ever. We played in Macon, GA Saturday night. We didn’t take a bus and a big shout out goes to the McRae’s for letting us borrow their Suburban. We rented a trailer and apparently the tires were so unbalanced or it was just getting ready to fall apart, because, even though we unpacked and repacked the trailer with the heaviest stuff on the axles, the trailer would still “slither” back and forth behind us when we reached a certain speed. At times I thought we were going to die, and at other times, I was praying that a guy on a Harley or a young lady in a Geo Metro wasn’t anywhere close to us, cause we easily could’ve whipped them right into oblivion.

We packed into the Suburban with Adam taking the wheel and Terah at shotgun. Me and Zach in the middle seats, and Jedi hogging the whole back to his narcoleptic self. It is so different than being on a bus; no walking around, impossible to sleep (except for Jed), stopping every 16 miles cause someone has to pee, then getting more liquids at the gas station so we can refill our kidneys for the next 16 miles. But I had more fun than if we were on a bus.

Terah bought these skinny balloons at this one gas station that you can make balloon animals out of. We weren’t stretching them good enough and they kept popping, and I’m sure Adam thought we were being shot at. I feel for him. Back in the day, my dad would’ve just chucked the rest of the balloons out the window the first time that happened, but Adam was a darn good sport and let us annoy him (but not on purpose). So none of us really figured out how to “officially” make the balloon animals ‘cept Jed, who had his own little circus going on the back with dogs, tigers, and I believe he even made a crowd to watch his balloon animals do tricks. He has discovered his talent…Just long enough for him to go back to sleep. I made a pair or numchucks. Of course, they didn’t work too great.

In Macon, we just had a lot of old-fashioned fun. Brother Ellis “Preston” joined us on the keys. Jed played acoustic, and Lorie “East” took the bass, Jason sang and Doug sang and we just jammed! It was so much fun. I loved every second of it! I’m really looking forward to Dollywood here an a couple weeks, where the family is set to play. Not sure what all we’re doing, but I’m sure it will be jamming!

Well, I’m off to get something to eat to hold me over until this evening. Jason is having a dinner and is apparently serving crab legs. If I get over there and find him soaking his legs in a giant boiling pot, I’m gonna be a little let down. I’ll just have to soak them in garlic butter, I guess. Just playing. Cannabalism is frowned upon, my friends, especially here in the ol’ U.S. of A.

God Bless,
Micah

Last Night (Central City, KY)

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 4:53 pm

***So, I don’t know if anyone has mentioned about that one girl who thought for sure (when she heard the name of the band on the radio) that our name was “Grab Your Bible!”, but I thought that was definitely worth a mention. And I’m seriously thinking about writing that on the front of my kick drum.***

As of late, I have been so excited about this whole ministry. I mean, I was excited when Adam decided to do all this, but to see God working in all of our lives, as well as through the people that come out to recieve something, whether it be deliverance, salvation, or uplifting is just simply amazing. *I am a master at run-on sentences.* I think it’s so super rad when people come out just to hear music, then walk away totally changed. And it’s nothing we are doing. We can’t. But the annointing of God is upon us. I am convinced of that.

Last night we played at a festival in Central City, KY. It was outside on a lot downtown. When we stepped on stage, everything just felt right. By the time we got to the third song, which was the beginning to a medley starting with the older Crabb song, “Reason That I’m Standing”, Terah began to cry and we could feel God overtake us. Before long, we were all playing and it was like the world had stopped and God had given us a “go” to play our instruments for Him with all we had and with the power and annointing of the Holy Spirit. When that happens, it’s like you don’t really care how the crowd is responding. You don’t care about how good you’re playing or who is watching. You are solely playing to the One who gave you the talent to do what you do. It’s a night I will never forget. God is going to use us, and already is! I don’t care what may come against this ministry, or who likes it or don’t. I don’t care about anyone’s opinion of how we do things. God has called us, not people. He is awesome!

So, going back to SpongeBob now. I totally love that episode where he is in Squidward’s band and they play at the Superbowl. The funniest thing I’ve ever seen! Hope it comes on. And for pete’s sake, someone please bring back Rocko’s Modern Life! Seems like the funniest cartoons die the quickest!

Love you guys! See you soon…

National Quartet Convention

Hello everyone! We had a great week at the NQC, actually it wasnt too bad this year.  I got to talk with several  artists this year and I felt the presence of God so strong there. A lot of people are going through things, the Devil is out on prowl and is trying to defeat the Christians and the people that  are called into the ministry. We did a showcase on Tuesday at 1, several different interviews, the round table at solid gospel, The Paul Heil show and the Jam Session on Thursday. We had a busy week. Other than that we cut our tracks for our first album and are so excited to get into studio and start singing! Be listening on radio for Crabb Family’s latest single, Child of the King and Crabb Revival’s Latest single, You Amaze Me. We are still in need of a bus, so don’t forget to lift us up in your prayer time! God id so good and faithful.. Be Blessed-Adam

Studio Tracking Day and Other Stuff

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 12:39 pm

Hey everyone! This will be my very first blog on the Crabb Revival webpage. I’m sort of nervous cause, well, I’m stepping out of my blog comfort zone of myspace, and I will probably be posting random things here, too. Kind of like if you went to someone else’s house to watch TV and eat a gyro. It would be okay to do that, but you’d probably feel more comfortable at your house on your couch watching TV and eating a gyro. Not that you won’t get comfortable at someone else’s house, but it just takes awhile. Hope I made that crystal clear.

Anywho, we are in the studio today tracking for the new album. I am so very bossinova excited about it. Especially because Zach is getting to play and sit beside one of his biggest influences, if not THE biggest influence of his playing, Brent Mason. It’s a very cool day for Zach. He deserves some sushi and a Monster Java. I don’t know when this album comes out, but the new Crabb Album comes out soon, if it hasn’t already. If you don’t have it you should get it, because I feel we did our best playing on track 25 about 6:22 into the track. It’s my favorite.

So, anyway, we are leaving out tonight for Georgia. Everyone pray with all your might that we can get through this weekend without our bus exploding or doing flips down the highway and what not. Seems like all we have is bus trouble anymore, but it’s just that poopie-head devil being a moron again. I’d like to take some sharp tacks and jab them up his nostrils. Forget him just sitting on them. That’s not painful enough. Reguardless of his actions, we are having so much fun! God will always have the last word!

We love you guys so much! Please pray for us and come and see us when you can. You never know what’s going to happen. I’m out for now. Hope I don’t get in trouble for saying “poopie-head”, but that just scratches the surface of how I feel about the devil. You should too.

Later,
Micah

Our weeknd in Arkansas and Texas

Filed under: Journal — Adam @ 9:04 pm

This was another fun yet interesting weekend.. Our old bus driver Carl drove for us this weekend, we started out on the road and lo and behold we blew a tire. Imagine that us with bus troubles? All we could do is laugh about it…. Be praying that we can get our own bus soon.. Anyways after our blow out and getting the tire changed we headed to Eureka Springs AR where we sang at The Passion Play Ampitheatre. Amazing!! We sang at 4 and then after the concert was over we got front row tickets to watch the Passion Play. It was a  very moving play.. Then we headed off to Brownsboro TX where we had an early morning service… Its hard for us Crabbs to roll out of bed early, but we all got up and had church. Then some friends took us out  to eat at a Mexican restuarant and it was so good.. Got back on the bus and slept pretty much the whole way home.. Be praying we are going in studio soon to work on some albums.. Be looking on the website for further updates.. Dont forget if any of us Crabbs are in your area, come out and be with us. God Bless, Adam
