Give Thanks With Your Fat Heart

Filed under: Uncategorized — Micah @ 9:26 pm

First off, let me say that I have looked at the gallery on our website recently and I can’t say that I’ve ever seen more evidence of child abuse than that portrayed by the pictures of little Hannah Grace crying with a bloody mouth. I ride the bus with Hannah and I know that her tooth wasn’t even loose. I would have known about it. I assume Adam and Kristi deliberately punched her right in the kisser then tried to cover for it by putting her little tooth inside a string (making it look like she…ahem…”lost” a tooth.) That poor child. I remember when Charlee was born, they held him by one leg over an alligator to see how high it would jump. Once, when the bus broke down, Adam and Kristi made Hannah, Charlee, and Logan push our bus all the way to the nearest exit 6 miles away. I tried to get up and help them but Adam pulled out a switchblade and demanded that I sit down unless I wanted to lose my hands and never play drums again. So I sat while the three little children shoved all of us to a Pilot. We passed up a Shell because deisel was cheaper at the Pilot. Poor little Charlee couldn’t even walk for a week after that, and Logan developed several asthma attacks. Especially when he got around diesel fumes. Those kids have changed tires, changed the oil, have been the “plungers” when something got stuck in the toilet. Their parents let them run around on top of the bus as we are going down the highway and everything. All those actions are given to, as their parents say, “Make them tough”. It’s abuse I tell you.

Sometimes I just make things up. I’ll leave it to you to decide what parts I make up.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I guess we’re all gonna pig out like every year. As Jim Gaffigan says, we do that every day. But it’s a special time for the Fat Hearts Club. You’ve never heard of a Fat Heart? By nature everyone is either a Fat Heart or not. One day, me and Mike Bowling were discussing how no matter how skinny you are or how fat you used to be or how much weight you have lost, you still are a Fat Heart if it’s in your blood. Fat Hearts just love to eat. There are those who have lost a tremendous amount of weight by eating healthy, but judging by their past, they will not resist a twinkie if it’s put right under their nose. They will destroy it because they’re still a skinny Fat Heart. Anyway, I am a Fat Heart. Mike Bowling is a Fat Heart. According to statistics, most of the United States citizens are Fat Hearts. But nobody has started a club until now. We haven’t officially got the shirts made yet, but Mike and I plan on it, and I think everyone who falls under this category should buy one and wear it with pride. I mean, how would it feel to be in the “biggest” club in the USA? Pretty awesome I would think. So anyway, enjoy your food tomorrow, cause it’s not EVERY day you get to eat alot………with family you don’t see all the time.

I’ve been really sick for the past few weeks, and I’m still not totally over it, but I am doing a lot better. Thanks for everyone’s prayers. If anyone has seen me at a concert and I acted a little weird, well, I’m Micah, and I am the definition of weird, but if I have acted sort of “out of it” and not as “peppy” as normal (peppy is a weird word), then that is why and I’m sorry. I will definitely make up for it next time I see you. I’m gonna pass out money and things and wash your car out in the parking lot after the concert. If you’re lucky, I might even give you a gummy bear. If you’re not, no gummy for you!

I’ll give an update after this Thankful day. If I write a blog that looks like this: wsrfedrtyhjhtgrfe2eq5rt34wertyguhjhgf

Night Fever

Filed under: Uncategorized — Micah @ 6:32 am

Well, let’s see, what’s new?…… The stock market seems to be crashing, the United States is in a financial crisis, the world is in chaos, people are going crazy, everyone’s wondering who will be the next president… What is Crabb Revival doing in the midst of all of this? A little thing called “Dance Party”. That’s right. We discovered that everyone on the bus can dance incredibly well, so we like to express ourselves- mainly at night with the blinds up on all the windows and the lights all on inside the bus (soon to be with a strobe and disco ball). We put on some dance music. The kind of music you would hear while passing by Abercrombie & Fitch in the mall. You can make the rhythm with your mouth if you do the pronounciation of the letter “D” followed by that of the letter “S” repeatedly, hundreds of times. I can see you trying it now. Great job! You’re getting the picture. Anyway, everytime we get ready to pass a semi or a bunch of vehicles in downtown traffic, the music cranks up and we all hit the floor, dancing our little shoes off. We even cranked up the jams while we were at a toll booth last weekend. The ladies said we made their day!

So, as you can see, we’re not really worried about anything going on. I ain’t, basically because I believe in God, and if I believe what I believe to be His word, then I have no reason to fear. He has taken care of me and this band through everything. He’s not about to start letting His people down now. God don’t need any money or any stock market or any country’s help to do what He wants. We are so dependant on humans for so much, we fail to be dependant on God. You ever wonder what you would do if you were given billions of dollars? I used to think that would be nice, except the fact that my faith would be sure to decrease because of my dependency lack. I pray God always keeps me dependant and close to Him through whatever means necessary. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Well…I guess you’d get the whole world for a really short time. But i’ve seen all the goo that comes with the world. Can’t say I’d really like to gain the world. I’d have to gain people’s problems and countries’ whatever-trillion dollar debts. And if I gained the world, what would become my goal then? Mars? How do you own Mars? Maybe I’ll shoot for that! Who wants the world? I want Mars!

I seem to have steered away from my point which was: “What is your ultimate goal?” What do you do when you’ve accomplished everything you wanted to? What then? How do you fill that emptiness with a new ambition? Wouldn’t you die from a depression or sadness? That is how the human life runs. On goals. I believe the only way to truly be fulfilled is by a goal you always accomplish but can never complete. And what would that goal be? For the unbeliever, nothing. Everything is attainable. You run the risk of a purpose-lacking life once you have accomplished what you set out to do. But for the believer, we have an eternal goal. I have a goal that, until I make Heaven my city, I will never fully accomplish, but daily I will. Til the day I die, I will be seeing how many souls I can take with me when the end comes. It’s a great realization. I pray all of you will make this your unattainable, yet overly fulfilling goal. It’s only in this that you find true happiness…no matter what happens in this world!

Well, I’m off. I love Full House. I admit it. I’m not ashamed. Uncle Jesse is definitely one of my musical heroes. Come see us soon! You might get to see the ole black bus bouncing up and down and faintly hear the song “What Is Love? (Baby, Don’t Hurt Me)” from the Night At The Roxburry soundtrack. You can see Jed doing the robot, Zach doing the worm, and me attempting the Electric Slide. It’s a fun time for all! If anyone would like to contribute to the “Party Bus” FUNd, which will be invested into “ice cream truck” megaphones and effect lights all around the bus, feel free! Or depending on how much goes into the FUNd, we may just get a few plastic kazoos! Either way, it’s gonna be GOBS of fun! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Send This Blog To 20 Of Your Friends And They Will Discover Who Their Crush Is Tomorrow…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Micah @ 3:25 am

…whatever. Although, I did have good luck for a few days once when I sent a text to all of my friends about a man-eating little girl in the mirror who would surely come through your mirror and eat you if you didn’t send it to 20 friends. If you did, you would have good luck. I went 3 days with no injuries and they even GAVE me a sucker at the bank without me having to do the “duck, sneak, and grab” like normal. Some guy also gave me his Hummer, which had a priceless painting under one of the seats. It was a pretty killer week…

…Till I looked in the rearview mirror 3 days later, saw the man-eating little girl and the sucker fell out of my mouth. I burned the Hummer and everything inside, and I realized that I had sent that text to 20 of my friends, but Zach didn’t get it because he dropped his phone that week and the screen broke. *Sigh*

One day my ship will come in. I just hope it sails down my street because I don’t live near the beach.

Anywhey, everything’s been so cool lately. God has been doing His thing, and we’ve gotten to pray with SO many people lately and I feel so humbled that God would give me the strength and words to pray with people. I can’t believe He uses me for ANYTHING. Any talent I have is from Him. Anything I am doing (ie: playing concerts, talking/praying with anyone, traveling from state to state, creating music and art, etc.) is ALL from Him. I am the most blessed person on the planet. It blows my mind that He is so good to us even when we are stupid. What love! It would be like giving a present to a snot-nosed kid who was chasing you around and shooting you in the butt with a bb gun. WHY would you want to do something good for someone so annoying and irritating and digraceful even by man’s standards? I don’t get it, but that’s God. Makes me think a lot now about how I am portraying myself to Him.

We’ve been gaming a lot on the bus lately. We’ve got the 360 and the PS3 on there now, so Madden and a plethra of other games are always being played somewhere. Jed actually goes and studies these games and learns button by button what all the best moves are so he can kick our tails. I think it’s extremely unfair that he beats us so bad at everything. What fun is winning by a long shot? I would rather see a good game, you know? If you’re playing Jed at anything, you’re pretty much just gonna get destroyed. BUT, if you DO happen to beat him at anything, you’ll get to hear the loudest noise that a human can possibly make. It kind of sounds like a guy who just got his eye jabbed with a cattle prod. It’s pretty funny, and if you’re on our bus all the way in the front, and Jed is playing a game all the way in the back, you can hear that noise all the way up front. I’m convinced that truckers passing us from time to time swerve involuntarily as Jed makes a play and someone intercepts a pass from him.

Well, I’m out for now. Doing a date with Jason and Aaron and everyone this weekend. Should be fun as usual! If I recall correctly, it’s at this church where the stage actually comes up through the floor! Pretty high tech! At my home church, if anything comes up from the floor, it’s kids getting out of Sunday School and running up from the basement.

Come and see us! Bring your chins. We’ll take pictures of all of them! Till next time!

P.S. With computer-based typing, and the explosion of modern technology, what’s the point of a “P.S.” anymore? Just type what else you wanted to say in the paragraph it relates to!

It’s Been Awhile…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Micah @ 1:59 am

…and I have some things to say!

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve been on here. If anyone has seen our schedule the past few months, you would know that we have been majorly busy on the road, and we’ve been very busy at home as well!
Alot of things have been on my mind recently, and although this may come across as a negative post, that is not its intention.

While dwelling on some things lately, I realize more and more how corrupt and intellectually defunct many people have become. While in full pursuit of “truth”, they are lead by men and the opinions they posess reguarding science and government. These opinions lead those who call themselves “leaders” and “self-thinkers” down a path to where they reguard others opinions and observations as their own. They are swayed. Not by truth, but by man.

The world hates Jesus and anything to do with Him. While He declares this in the Bible (prophecy anyone?), others are still too dumb to realize that the odds of Him fulfilling all the prophecies He has by coincidence are the same as a person hitting the top lottery 12 times in their life. The Bible is historically accurate with firsthand accounts of Jesus and all He did for us. To have physical proof would deminish faith, but I hide His WORD in my heart, and I have found the Truth I seek. Evolution is flawed. Religions are flawed. Everything in science and nature points toward a Superior Creator, not to an explosion in space (that apparently to some, existed before existence?).

I say all this not to show that I have agreed with any of the afformentioned things. I agree on what I believe without proof. If Jesus came down tomorrow and made Europe disappear, and the moon turn to Jello, people STILL would not believe in Him. There would be another excuse and theory as to how it all happened.

I have sought God. He has revealed Himself to me. I’ve sought Truth and found it. I believe because I know, not because I guess it to be true. It is real. I am 100% sure of what I believe when others cannot draw that high of a percentage on how sure they are of what they don’t believe. Let me add this to those who may be on this blog questioning what you believe or may be swayed by what men are trying to push on you: Knock and the door will open. Seek the truth, and you will find it. If you don’t believe the Bible, read it. Don’t say it if you can’t say why. Compare it to history. Compare Jesus to religion. Study my “truth”. Don’t skim it. You cannot draw a true conclusion about anything until you have a first hand encounter with it. Try a first hand encounter with the Word of God. It will rock your world.

All this comes into play to the subject of why I’m writing. I was reading about an author today (that sounds ironic. haha) who is all about tearing down Christianity and is an enforcer of trying to kill any notion of beliefs at all in this United States government. I recall the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment that prohibits the government from interfering with a person’s practice of his or her religion.

I think this is hilarious that someone is trying to take this down. The very thing this country was founded upon. It would be different if the USA was the only country in the world, but i’ve got awesome news for all of the anarchists and Christ-haters living in the US: We are not the only country in the world! You can move to countries where Christianity is illegal to practice! They would love your citizenship and your contribution to their beliefs!! You will be free to be bound by your unbeliefs!! The plane is just waiting for you. So pack them bags! You don’t have to stay anymore! You don’t have to live in a country with all of these horrible freedoms! You can be happy in a country that conforms to you. ‘Course, you might be stoned to death for not flushing a toilet, but that should be a risk you are willing to take to stand behind this notion so strongly!

It should be so easy, but so many nerds are gonna stay here and complain until they die. What a horrible life!

Anyway, it ain’t gonna get any better, sad to say, but as for me, I am happy! I am blessed! I am ALIVE today! I search no longer for satisfaction! If any of you are sad or depressed, try NOT focusing on your wants, and try giving thanks for what you’ve been given. No matter how bad of shape you are in, you could always be a lot worse without the hand of God saving you from death and hell. That’s something to be happy about…

…Okay, will somebody pull this Dial encasing out from under my shoes. I’ve been on my soapbox too long.

We got a new bus and it rocks! Well, not really, the shocks are really good and we hardly feel a thing, so the days of “rockin” buses are over. You can actually walk from the couch to the bathroom on our bus now. We have been SO blessed. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who contributed to us getting this thing. You were sent by God to give what you gave and we could not have this thing if it weren’t for you and GOD proving to do what seemed to be the impossible. He always takes care of His children! We are blessed to have such awesome friends who come to see us and hang out with us and support us. It blows my mind! We don’t take any of you for granted and we are so proud that you guys would want to party with us and Jesus night after night. I get so excited it makes me want to roll uphill and throw styrofoam gliders down a creek bed, all the while shooting bottle rockets out the wings (yeah, you shoulda been there for that one!). That’s a thing to get VERY excited over!

Hopefully, next time, my blog won’t be so “disgruntled” sounding. Occasionally, I get in these modes where I feel the need to voice something and get it off my chest. Not in a bad way, but just to show others that this is not a game. It’s not a show. What we deal with is spiritual war, not flesh and blood. We do not do what we do for worldly gain. We have a purpose behind our song. We have a battle to engage. We have a fight to win… We won’t be overthrown. We are a mighty army. God bless you all!

Keep on the firing line, and please, for the love of crayons, use bazookas and not cap guns!

Until the next time we huddle around the number mat and sing songs about farm animals and bonnie lyin’ over the ocean, this is Micah saying, “Good day!”

Waking the Master

Hey everyone. Finally got my login deal working.lol. But I talked to Adam about starting a bible study, slash Lesson, slash blog type thingy. (pardon the termonology) He said sounded like a great idea. I have one already posted on my Myspace at myspace.com/jedrichardson under my blog posts. But Anywho, I was kinda thinking about what to talk about but I figured I’d talk about what has been relevant in my life so far.
The other night, I recieved a phone call while a bunch of us were at a steak house in Hendersonville, TN. This person was having panic attacks and needed prayer and encouragement. I remember as I was talking to her, asking as many questions as I could to understand the situation, I remember telling her, and I quote, “God Loves You.” And as I said those words, they hit me so hard. Then feeling the presence of God almighty, I told her that everything was going to be okay. She pulled through and is alright now, thanks be to God, and his Love.
Last saturday, the Nineteenth, In Stereo, an annointed group of guys, and Crabb Revival played at a Church. God began to move and prepare hearts, and as Adam sang ‘Through the Fire’ he had all those that had needs to come forth and recieve from God. As the song ended, the alters were full of young and old alike. People were crying, and broken before their God. Then all of us that ministered that night, on and off stage, went down and began to pray with those that we felt lead to go lay hands on. And as I prayed for two ladies and their daughter/neice, God put in my spirit that their cries had awoken the master. And I was takin back to the scripture were the deciples were on the boat, and as Jesus laid asleep under the deck, the storms started to come and then before they knew it, the waves and winds were taking over the ship and it says that the deciples were afraid for their lives.(Matt 8:23-27)
Thats just how we are as Christians sometimes. Storms and winds blow our ship and we loose control and we start to flip out because, our ship (a.k.a. our situation) gets out of control and no longer are we able to handle things. Fear and doubt enters our hearts and our faith and trust begin to fade. I’m able to explain this well, because that is me. Just like Peter, and James, and John, I get fearful when the situation gets out-of-hand and I loose control. And we become blinded and forget who is ON the Ship. It wasn’t coincindence that Jesus fell asleep, and stayed asleep. But as the deciples, we gotta learn to seek out, and find Christ while he may yet still be found as the scripture says. And sometimes we gotta shake him, and wake him up, so-to-speak. Get down and dirty and show God just how desperate you are. How desperate we need him move in our situation.
Jesus said that Heaven is under violence, and the violent take it by force.(Matt 11:12) So in order to get what we need, God wants us to come to him and get his attention and say, “Hey! Father, I need you.” It may be in a silent prayer. It may even be with a shout and dance, or a fast from something. Whatever it is, let God know just how much we need Him. And the cool thing is that He’ll move on your behalf. He will not fail. He Loves You!!! Does He have to prove it to us anymore than He already has? Jesus Christ, God the Father, and His Holy Spirit loves you and me. Trust in Him. Reveal to him your faith, and your belief that He can do what you need. He’ll prove Himself. Try Him…
Praise be to God, and to Him all the glory and honor. Forever and ever, Amen.

‘Snow Big Deal!

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 4:07 am

Tues, March 11, 2008

I just want to say hey first of all to all the faithful blog readers! It’s crazy! Even though a lot of you are too shy or too busy to post replies, I just want to let everyone else know how many people night after night come up to me and ask when I am going to do a new blog! I really would like to know how many people view this thing on a daily/weekly basis. To those that do, thanks for reading! You keep up better than I do!

A lot has gone on since I last posted anything. Most of it I can’t remember, and that’s sad. But I’ll try my best. For starters, the first night out this week, we played in Jackson, TN and a blizzard hit. The funniest thing, in my opinion, about that night, was that while we were setting up, Jed went outside cause he got a phone call or something. He left his jacket and hat inside on the stage. I found this mannequin behind the stage. To say the least, it was naked. Very much so. Anyway, we pulled it out on stage, stood it facing Jed’s bass amp, and put Jed’s jacket, hat, and bass on it. From far away, it looked like Jed was soundchecking without pants on. We took some pictures, but we may have to censor them before putting them on here. Mannequin buttcracks aren’t something you see often on Christian music websites. People get pretty offended at stuff like that. People might even get offended reading this right now. I do apologize for that, but I am just being honest. Next time you get out of the shower, turn backwards and look in a mirror. Maybe it’ll take a little less of the offense off this blog. Hehe.

Anyway, back to the blizzard. I, being a Buckeye from the wonderful state of Ohio, am a little perturbed that the Tennesse DOT is slacking a little in being prepared for these things. Roads weren’t cleared. Interstates weren’t cleared or salted. It’s like everyone heard that snow was coming and hid inside. EVERYONE! We had to get back to Nashville, and a normal 2 hour trip took like 5 and a half hours! Let me add here that southern truck drivers have no clue how to drive in snow, and cause danger for most of those who do. When interstates have not been cleared, you don’t pass people going 60mph! Most everyone that passed us, we would pass on up the road 5 miles and they would have slid off the road into trees or flipped their trucks because of their lack-o-concern. I think it’s funny how in Nashville, if there’s a 1% chance of snow, schools shut down, people hoard gas, food, and wood. I remember going to school in 3 feet of snow, and having to shovel a path around mom’s car so she could take me there! People need to learn!

God has been doing an awesome work in all of us lately. I have to speak for everyone in the band when I say that the past couple weeks have probably been the hardest in one way or another for every person individually. So many things have happened and we have been fought beyond comprehension, but that only means we are doing the right thing. I don’t doubt it for a second. We have had the privelege to be in some of the most incredible worship concerts/services I have ever been in, much less be a part of. I am humbled that God would let me do anything for Him, much less use me to be His voice! It has been so cool. We have been having church on the bus as well. Our Bible studies are becoming pretty intense. Last night, what started out to be a scripture reading in the front lounge turned into an all out prayer service. We sang, we prayed, we worshipped, we shared testimonies and words of encouragement to each other. The devil hates this. He hates us and what we do. That’s fine and dandy, cause I hate him too, and why should I not fight? Why shouldn’t I do anything and just wait to go to Heaven? As big of a lying predator as he has been on my life, I wanna kick the poo out of him while I’m down here! He can’t win. He’s just jealous cause he used to make pretty music and now he’s a has-been. haha. He’s a burnout. Get it? haha! He’s got nothing anymore. His career was trashed when he was kicked out of Heaven for being so egotistical.

Kind of makes you wonder who the angel of music is now? I mean, he was probably replaced, right? I bet if you put the new angel of music next to the devil and compared the two, talent-wise, it’d be like comparing John Petrucci’s guitar playing to Willie Nelson’s. I wanna meet the new angel of music one day and have him teach me the songs God loves to hear. Wouldn’t it be awesome to know what melodies move His heart? I believe if the music moves the hearts of His people, it would also move His. Something to think about anyway!

Anyway. Hope you guys have a great week! Come see us! B*ttcrack!

We Answer Your Questions…

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 4:26 pm

Here are the answers to all of your questions. Thank you to those of you who have posted! We will be doing more things like this periodically. We want you guys to know us as much as you can and this blog is a good way to do it! Well, here goes:

***What is you guys’ favorite part about Crabb Revival concerts???

Adam: Seeing peoples lives changed, and also that person leaving
knowing that God did something in their life!!

Micah: The obvious: Seeing someone accept God or come back to Him. Besides that. Anytime the crowd is into it with us and not looking at us like we are the Beatles playing at a retirement home. Although sometimes I think some people would rather be in a retirement home. Retirement homes have exquisite pudding.

Zach: First and foremost, seeing folks’ life changed right before your eyes. Then, it would be jamming out with the best musicians I could play with… My best friends.

Terah:Mine is seeing lives changed! I also love after the song Friend of God when the band keeps playing. They rock!

Jed: The part when you can see that people are touched by the annointing and power of God. And watching people worship God.

***As road warriors, who has a better breakfast? Waffle House or IHOP?

Adam: IHop

Micah: I’m never up for breakfast, but we eat a lot of WH at night. IHOP gives me less diarrhea, so I’d probably rather go there. When I go the IHOP, I never leave feeling like hoppin’. More like “I Barely Move” or “I Need A Wheelchair”- Props to Jim Gaffigan.

Zach: IHOP is good and all, but you just can’t beat a good ol’ Waffle House.

Terah: Steak and eggs at Waffle House!!

Jed: Ihop has better sweet tea, and waffle house’s eggs literally kill my tummy, so ihop. but at ihop the workers must hop around and try to catch what you want to eat cause they take forever to get your food out. but its usaully worth the wait.

***When you were first coming into your own as Christians, how did you know what GOD wanted you to do, what gift he wanted you to have? I am trying to find my gift, and find out what GOD wants me to do.

Adam: It’s just one of those things that you know. I think everyday we are making sure we are where God wants us to be!!! stay close to him and trust your heart!

Micah: One thing I’ve learned is that if you use what He has already given you, He will give you so much more. Everyone has a way of communicating the Gospel, whether it be through their tongue, music, dance, art, intelligence, whatever. Any of these can be used to glorify Him. I would sit down and ask yourself, “What has God given me already?” Maybe it’s just your mouth. Telling your friends about Jesus. Maybe you’re good at drawing. Whatever. Use what He has blessed you with and I promise, He will use you in so many more ways!

Zach: Well, to me, the best way to find out what God wants is to A. Surrender yourself TOTALLY to Him, B. Seek His face, and C. In ALL things you do (or try to do), do it as unto the Lord, and with ALL your might. We are ALL called to share/spread the Gospel by being a living example of Christ’s love, mercy, forgiveness, and witness for the world to see.

Terah: I picked up harmony at the age of 8 and ever since then I have had a burning desire to sing!

Jed: I’ve been saved since i was five, so my prayer was always “God, just use me no matter where or what i do. if I’m working at a wood factory, or if i’m playing in the NBA, then let me be the light that You want me to be.” And as i got older, a man named Tom at my church played the lead guitar, and he had an annointing that just led people in worship, especially through his solos. And I wanted to do that, so I just prayed and asked God to give me the talent and ability to lead worship like that. And I may not be playing lead guitar, but still God has allowed this country boy with dreams and hopes to do that with which God has so graciously given to me. I may not be that great at lead guitar, or even a bass guitar for that matter, but still God has been faithful to my prayers. And I’ve never been happier. So just let God know your heart. And he’ll lead you the way you should go. And it’ll be perfect. Chase God, not dreams, and your dreams will come true.

***What’s the craziest prank you guys have ever played on each other?

Adam: One time i put a dirty diaper in mike bowling’s bag. It was bad!! But he started it. He put one in my car and it sat there for a week!! That was real bad!!

Micah: Walt always comes out from time to time. Occasionally, firecrackers can make people jump 5 feet in the air, as well!

Zach: Ha Ha. We’ve done our share of pranks…. ALL of which were pretty crazy. We like to joke on each other…

Terah: (No Comment)

Jed: Pranks!? US!? No, we dont do pranks. We’re Christians ;)  We just sit and act serious all the time. Thats the CR (crabb revival) in a nut shell. We just put salt and hot spicy things in others drinks when they get up and walk out to talk on the phone. Oh wait…thats me.

***Just curious who does it take longer to fix their hair, Terah or the Guys?

Adam: Terah for sure!!

Micah: I really don’t know. I probably take the longest showers and the most time getting ready. When it comes straight to the hair though, I really don’t know!

Zach: Depends on whether or not I’ve been wearing a hat…

Terah: It’s so close! Probably me, Adam or Zach! Micah takes the longest showers though.

Jed: i’m going to go out on a limb here and say…TERAH!!!

***Okey this one is kinda dumb but who takes the most stuff on the road as in shoes and clothes ??

Adam: Micah. LOL!

Micah: It can’t be me. Once I packed everything for a week or so in Morocco in a small backpack. Once, I helped Terah get all her stuff on the bus. The hernia still bothers me from time to time.

Zach: Justin Ellis (Crabb Family)… Ha Ha! (See two questions up!)

Terah: That would be me!

Jed: Adam and Kristi, but only because they pack for four. Them two and their two yougins.

***What is the craziest thing beside the prank and the mask that has happened to yall why yall were on the road! Thanks Guys!! Oh yeah when are yall heading back to ole SC???

Adam: One day we were on the road and a drunk driver tried to run us off the road and he kept slowing down and speeding up!! It was crazy!

Micah: Too many to name. Once, me and Terah got into a Coke fight and drenched the front lounge of the bus in Coke. The floor was sticky like a movie theater for weeks… We’re not coming back to SC. They made us boys wear skirts in Scotland. Ain’t going back.

Zach: Hmmm. That’s a tough one!

Terah: It probably would be waking up to Rabbit (our driver at the time) screaming “Get up, Get up, Get up! The bus is on fire!” Crabbs were jumping out of bunks everywhere! That was very crazy!

Jed: Well, just this past weekend, i slept on the bottom bunk on the bus, and the bunk above me fell and almost made a sandwhich out of me. But it got wedged just as it hit my shoulder. I was laying on my side and i was talking on the phone and listening to my ipod and the roof started to touch my shoulder so i knew something wasn’t right. But I fixed it.. kinda…well it was a little slanted but still Heather got to sleep in it, but all night i kinda worried about it. So you can call me mister fix it. lol.

***What are some tips for songwriting?

Adam: Anytime you go through something it seems like God will send you a song, write down all your ideas then go from there!!

Micah: I’m not much of a writer, but I love a good hook and melody. If a song sticks in your head, it’s a keeper. And on a personal note, we always get these songs that are like 10 minutes long from people. Do you know that a radio-friendly song is like, around 3 minutes or less? keep it short and to the point.

Zach: Start off by praying for God to help you express in song what’s in your heart. Write what you feel on paper, THEN put it together to match your idea of the musical direction you want it to head in…

Terah: I really don’t feel like I have the answer to this one!

Jed: I, myself, used to have a problem with telling people what i thought. I tried to alot, but just could not explain or express myself the way that people could understand me. Like I never wanted to answer a question in class at school though i knew the right answer because no one knew what i was saying, and it frustrated me. and it wasn’t that I stuttered, which i do that too, but it was my choice of words and how i put them in a sentence. But I found that I could make sense of what i wanted to say by writing. So I wrote in journals, like prayers and poems. And when I prayed a lot of times, I found that I really wanted to write a song that worshipped God so thats usually when I wrote songs, and I’d sing them at church and people were really touched. So I think its just however you express yourself. Just kinda feel your own. Ya know? And once again, ask God to use your pen to touch lives.

***Wut is ur VERY FAVORITE-CRAZY thing to do?????

Adam: Listen to music until about 4 in the morning .

Micah: Skip school and go work in the coal mines all while doing drugs and skydiving! Just kidding. Hmm. Probly going muddin’ in my truck or taking a nap. Craaay-zeee!

Zach: I love riding ATV’s at a high rate of speed… It’s a shame I don’t have one!

Terah: Watching zit.com on youtube. It’s sick, and I guess I can’t believe people would film themselves popping a zit! There are some crazy people in this world!

Jed: Draw and write things while listening to my ipod. just relaxing and being mellow.

***Where is ur favorite place to do a concert @??

Adam: So many places. One is Choctaw OK.

Micah: Winterfest is always fun. And the Tuscahoma Amphitheater. And it’s always an honor to play the Opry or Brooklyn Tabernacle.

Zach: Tuscahoma, Oklahoma. Choctaw Indian Reservation. Y’ALL ROCK!!!!!

Terah: Anywhere were people are excited!

Jed: I really like ON FIRE Churches. We always have a good service and God really moves. People running and dancing and shouting and crying and all that good Holy Ghost stuff.

***Will You Come Do a Concert in the Ozarks/SPRINGFIELD again??????? Pretty Please?

Adam: We would love to.

Micah: No. Sorry. It’s in our contract that we will never come back there.

Zach: Sure!

Terah: We would love toooo!!

Jed: Sure, if ya’ll will have us. lol. Then, heck yeah!!

***What has been the best service yall have been in? Like the one that the Holy Ghost was just so evident.. the one where you got so pumped up you couldn’t sit down… the one where you couldn’t stop speaking in tongues..?

Adam: One of them was in Vandalia, Ohio. It was so awesome. God moved in my life that night and i knew that i would never be the same!
God blessed me! There are about 10 diff. times like that!

Micah: I hope this don’t kill the sincerity of the question, but in all honesty, there was one concert we did in Alabama, I think, where I went to do a number 1 in the bathroom after it was over and had to literally hold on to the bathroom stall to keep from falling, the spirit was still so strong (even in the bathroom). My whole body was weak.

Zach: There have been several services in which God was moving so strong. I don’t think I could pick just one to be a best… I love being in God’s presence…

Terah: Anytime we are at Todd Hoskins’ church in OH, and in my prayer closet. I have church in there sometimes! I love when he shows up!

Jed: We have been having a lot of those services lately. But one imparticular time was when we were at Bro. Todd Hoskins church and we had church. It was awesome. It was at a time when we were all really needing a touch from God, and God just blessed.

***I know that living on a bus with so many people there has to be times when atleast someone trys to aggravate you…so who is the most aggravating….lol!!!

Adam: Really no one does.

Micah: I vote me. I have gastrointestinal overactivity, a Walt mask, I’m loud, and I listen to lots of different music over the bus sound system. I know not everyone likes metal or bluegrass all the time, but when I do, I crank it! Not good when the babies are sleeping!

Zach: Me and Micah! HaHaHa!

Terah: Jed. I mean Jed. Did I say Jed? I meant Jed! LOL!!!! Jed is an awesome guy, he just aggravates! Love u Jed!!! He’s my cuz so I can say this!

Jed: No one really aggravates me. I’m not one to get aggravated easily. They’re like my family…no they are my family and I love them and we all get along. But now Terah has always acted like my real sister Rachel, and she knows how to push my buttons. But we always try to aggravate each other, but i dont think that it counts cause we usually end up laughing and just cutting up. Love Ya Terah!!! lol

***On Runaway Train, who wrote “Only A Man”? That song has amazing lyrics…

Adam: Jonny Lang. It is a Great Song!!

Micah: Some kid named Jonny Lang. Someone said he is good at guitar or something too. AND, he’s supposed to be a pretty good singer. I’ll believe it when I see it!…………playing :)
Zach: Maybe Jonny Lang. I’m not sure, but it’s a powerful song.

Terah: I dont know.

Jed: Johnny Lang. One of my most favorite songs on one of the most incredible albums in 2006. God Bless You Johnny

***My question is how old are each one of you and how does it feel to be on the road with your family?..you guys are the best!

Adam: I am 28. I love traveling with my family! They are the best!!

Micah: 24. I wouldn’t change my life for anything. I’ve never had siblings, and when I step on the bus every week, I have 7, closer than most of my family. It’s always a trip! Never a dull moment. To see what God does through what little we have is truly a miracle!

Zach: I just turned 23. Well, my wife, Amanda, sings for The McRaes, so we really haven’t had the chance to travel together. She is an awesome vocalist and very anointed and I am so very proud of her and her ministry. However she did get to come out with us one weekend, and it was so much fun!

Terah: I am 25 and I love these guys! They are the best!

Jed: I’m 20, and yeah, we are family. Its cool to do what you love with people that you love.

***How long did it take you to record “Runaway Train”?

Adam: About 2 months, something like that!!

Micah: It took a day for the tracking, and a little longer for the vocals. It’s probably one of the fastest albums that’s ever been put together!

Zach: Not too long…

Terah: See Adam’s answer for this one!

Jed: Two or Three months. Not too shabby, eh?

***What country would you like to visit outside the US that you haven’t been too?

Adam: France

Micah: China/Hong Kong. I love NYC, and I heard you can put like 11 NYC’s in the city of Hong Kong. I could be wrong on that number, but even if you could fit 2 NYC’s in Hong Kong, it would be one beast of a city!!!

Zach: The Florida Keys. HAHAHA! I am SO JUST KIDDING!!!! Apparently, I live in “Hungary”, cause I’m always eating something. Yeah, I know it was cheese-ish, but what can I say, I “luh” me some cheese.

Terah: Italy

Jed: Australia all the way. I’ve always wanted to surf, but I can’t swim and I haven’t seen the ocean yet.

***If you were spanked growing up as a child, how old were you when you got your last spanking?

Adam: I have no idea!

Micah: I don’t claim to have had my last spanking…

Zach: You know, I was just thinking about this the other day. I don’t remember, but I would have celebrated with a “I just go my last *whippin’ (*Texas term for spanking) party! But, as my mom will continually explain, I am NEVER too old to whip.

Terah: I was spanked, but I didn’t get many! Dad just had to look at me and I started minding!

Jed: Like nine or ten. I was a good…hggmmm…sorry had to clear my throat…boy!lol. Just ask my parents. Jay Kay!!!

***What do each of you enjoy doing in your time off of the road?

Adam: I love to relax, hang with my kids, and going out to eat, and I love sports!

Micah: I love spending time with my family, and honestly, a lot of times we (Crabb Revival) hang out together. It’s so cool to be in a band where you are really good friends off the road as well as on it. I also got an XBOX 360 for Christmas, which is a big step from the Nintendo that I had prior to XBOX. I am still trying to figure it out, and I am loving Guitar Hero and Spiderman 3!

Zach: Spending time with my wife, family, and friends.

Terah: Scrapbooking, shopping, going to the movies, and hanging out with my family

Jed: Working out, and just hanging with friends playing madden, and going to the movies, oh and eating Kabuto. Yummy.

***As each of you have traveled extensively across the country over the years. What one place has caught you off guard and taken your breath away?

Adam: Alaska was amazing!!!

Micah: One place that caught me off guard was when I slipped and fell down a ramp in GA. It also took my breath away. It stinkin’ knocked the wind right out of me. So I would say GA.

Zach: The Grand Ole Opry, New York City, Morocco, Tuscahoma Choctaw Indian Reservation Concert, Mars Music Store (You are Missed)

Terah: Hawaii, WOW!!!

Jed: Well I’ve only done this for like six months but when we went white water rafting in West Virginia. God is just so beautiful. And also Eufala, Ok.

***My husband is in a contemporary Christian band here in Blue Ridge, GA. They recently opened for Julian Drive and Aaron and Amanda. They’re burning to get on the road full time and spread the word of Christ. They play a few dates here and there at the moment. Any advice for the band?

Adam: Stay close to God, trust in him, and love the people. You have to have a heart for the lost and for God. Have alot of faith and be yourself.

Micah: Julian Drive are some pretty neat-o guys. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Aaron and Amanda. Hmm.. Tell them to keep doing what they’re doing. God sees their hearts and their intentions. He will put them where He wants them when the time is right! Also, practice practice practice!!! We don’t get to practice enough, and I wish we could! You really do get SO much better as a band when you practice. Try new things in practice. If you know a song good already, then you’re really just rehearsing for the road. Practice is a good place to share and try new ideas. Get closer musically and don’t be afraid to push yourselves. Try things you can’t do and just practice them until you get them!

Zach: Do it all for God. Make sure that seeing souls won and lives changed your number one priority. And HAVE FUN!

Terah: It may get hard at times, but hang in there! God has perfect Will for your band! Read, pray, and stay true, because peoples eyes are always watchin’ you!

Jed: Just give it to God. Pray and fast and God will make a way. He’ll open and close doors. Just let him use you to the fullest of your ability and be faithful over the little things and he’ll give you the bigger things later.

***What annoying habit do each of ya’ll have that get on each other’s nerves??

Adam: I talk real soft sometimes and people can’t hear me. I know that gets on peoples nerves.

Micah: Like I said before, I think I have some sort of severe gastrointestinal disorder. I think I over-accentuate the relief of pressure sometimes. Especially in the mornings. I don’t know why. I guess it’s annoying to others. They’re normally kind about it. They just throw shirts and such over their faces so they can breathe. It annoys me when Adam thinks he didn’t sing or play good. Bro’s a beast and he kills it night after night. Sometimes, I don’t think Jed should stand behind a microphone. Terah taunts me sometimes. She just likes to poke you or aggravate you when your hands are full with luggage or whatever. Zach, who buys stuff for everyone all the time, will never let you pay for anything of his. Even if you sneak and buy something for him, he’ll try to throw money in your pocket and take off running!

Zach: We really don’t get on each other’s nerves that much… But maybe the fact that we make up a back-story to the most random things then cackle like giddy hyenas for extended periods of time…

Terah: Adam- He eats all the time and never gains a pound! Jed- His phone!! Micah- What he put in will come out, and lets just say “Please, NO White Castles!” Zach - “I want you to look” (inside joke)

Jed: When i find that out myself, I’ll let ya know. ;)

Blah, Blah, Blog

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 5:12 pm

What a freezing day it is here in Nashville! I went outside to go to the post office, and as of right now, I don’t think I’m going outside again until the end of May. I think my lips fell off while I was walking from my truck into the Post Office. I don’t even WANT to know what it’s going to feel like tonight. I imagine as I get in my truck to go to the bus, when I shut my door, the whole thing will probably shatter into pieces. Then, I’ll probably get my hands stuck to the steering wheel, and when I try to pull them off, my wrists will probably break in half, and I’ll be walking around freezing and forever unemployed. That is, until my legs break and they fall off. Not looking forward to going outside tonight…

Anywho. We’ve been having a lot of fun, as usual. It seems to me that we probably have more fun than most bands out there. We’re never bored and we don’t go to bed until our bodies just can’t take being tired anymore. The dumbest thing can happen that would frustrate a lot of bands, and we tend to laugh at those things. Why wait until 10 years to look back on them at laugh? I think it’s funny now!

We had a great freezing weekend. When I was leaving, my mom was like, “Honey, you think you should take your coat?” I was like, “Nah, I’ll just take a hoodie. We’re going to Georgia!” At that time, it seemed to be like a movie when Mom and I threw our heads back and chuckled at the same time of how ridiculous it would’ve been to take a feather-filled coat to Georgia. I mean, I probably could’ve had a heat stroke!

Anyway, I should not have been so brash about that descision. I ate my own words, and I scooped up a side of Mom’s words along with it. It was, infact, winter in Georgia and everyone knew it! I remember we stayed at this one place called “The Crabb Family Lodge”. When we saw it on paper, we thought someone had messed up on something, but somebody really took a Bed & Breakfast type place and called it The Crabb Family Lodge. There was a HUGE sign by the door! It was pretty awesome! Inside, it had this big portrait of the Crabb’s circa Terah at 15 or so, up on the wall. And all the rooms were labeled by other singers. I think it was awesome that my room was Jeanette Cooke’s room. Can I stress right here and now how much I love the Cooke’s??? I am a Cooke’s fan. I even have DVD’s of them made from old video tapes! They are awesome! Mike Bowling and I share a love for them, and someday Mike is going to bring her in and record a song with her, and I get to play drums on it. That will be a BIG highlight of my life!

Anyways, that was cool, and when we came outside, there was like 5 inches of snow on the ground. I like that! I don’t mind the cold as long as snow is coming along with it. Back in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), I would run outside and take the trash out with shorts, t-shirt, and no shoes on in 4 feet of snow. I love it! Then my feet fell off and I got anthrax in my eye. Just playing. But it was awesome.

We played this weekend with Mike & Kelly, Brian Free, and The Perry’s. They all did fantabulous! I love it when the bass singers hit those notes and you start seeing blurry from the vibrations. It’s like a 747 just landed beside the building. I wish I could do that. I would just walk into restaraunts and start singing bass. Then everyone would get scared, and I’d have any open table I wanted! Ha!

Have I mentioned I got an XBOX360 for Christmas? And I am going to have to check myself into rehab for being addicted to Guitar Hero and Spiderman 3? Last game thing I had was a nintendo, and this is WAY cooler! The graphics are ridiculous! It feels like you’re really in the game. Kinda spooky, but cool, nonetheless!

I’ve been drinking V8 a lot lately. Basically because I HATE vegetables, but know I need them, so in one not-too-awful can of vegetable goo, I can get a full serving a day. I do feel better! Go V8! It’s a love/hate relationship.

Well, enough of my mumbo jumbo. When something important and cool comes along, I probably won’t tell you. I usually just resort to the ho-hum happenings and senselessness that goes on. Oh well. Have a great day! Don’t forget to turn out the lights! –That’s what Tim McGraw says at the end of the the song, ‘Country Boys and Girls Gettin’ Down on the Farm’, and I really don’t know what turning out the lights has to do with gettin’ down on the farm. But Tim McGraw said it, so he can get away with it. He gets paid to say things like that. On the next album, I’m going to holler, “Check your electric meter to be sure you keep a low bill!” at the end of a song. We’ll see what happens!

Love yuns,
Micah

P.S. The questions everyone sent us are being answered as I write this. Hope to post them soon!

Q&A ***UPDATED***

Filed under: Journal — Micah @ 10:08 pm

I got this idea today and I’m not sure if anyone really cares to try it out or not, but here goes: I think it would be neat if all of you who actually read this would post questions on here and we (Crabb Revival) would answer them. Sort of like a mass interview. Now when I say questions, I mean like, stuff you really wonder about us that we’ve never talked about.

So, tell your friends, and any fellow fans and have them get on the site and post a question. Please refrain from questions about science and radiology and things we haven’t been schooled to answer. Please refrain from questions reguarding advice (if you really want, you can send those to us personally, but not publically). Just keep in mind that this is meant to be really fun so keep your questions fun!

We have been at a few events lately where we had to get up and start taking questions from people and it ended up being pretty funny and cool for some reason. Who knows what you’ll ask, and who knows what we’ll say!

Just post in reply to this blog…

Oh, oh, oh….AND we’re doing a tour in early 2008. Just found out. It’s gonna be AWESOME! I’ll let you know more details when I find out!

***UPDATE***
Thanks for the questions everyone!! They are awesome so far! We are going to wait a couple of weeks and then collectively answer all of them. That should give everyone who gets on here a chance to post questions if they haven’t. You guys are doing great. We are going to have some fun answers! Keep ‘em coming!
